密藏釋迦牟尼佛在苦行林中苦修6年。35歲時，徹悟苦行不能達到解脫，轉而前往菩提伽耶，接受了牧羊女乳糜供養後，在菩提樹下禪定四十九日，戰勝天魔的威脅及誘惑，最後睹明星而“悟道”，證得諸法實相。
