一葉觀音（宰官身），又作蓮葉觀音、南溟觀音。乘一片蓮葉漂浮水上，故有此名。相傳日僧道元自中國返日時，遇暴風於南溟時即默禱觀音，忽見大悲尊乘一蓮葉浮於海上，風浪遂止。及登岸，刻造所睹觀音像奉於南溟觀音寺，故有此稱。或釋為表卅三身中宰官。
